I had an account with Gold's Gym who changed to Vasa Fitness. I signed up for a month to month, no contract plan (thats what the window said on their gym). My card expired and they were not able to bill it. I had just started school and had no time for the gym anymore so I did not want to continue. I was contacted just after the card was declined by, I believe it was Paramount Acceptance, but it was a guy, saying that the card was expired and he was calling to update the card. I explained to him that I was starting school and I did not want to continue. I was not told of any policy to cancel at that time. I assumed everything was fine.

I got a call 2 days ago from a collections agency saying that I owed $180 for 3-4 months of unpaid service and fees. I told them I canceled and was not happy. I called Vasa, and talked to someone who was not able to give any information. I asked for details on the charges that equaled the $180 and she said the collections agency was the ones that handled it as it was turned over to them. I asked to speak to a supervisor to which she told me there was not a supervisor available. I said I would hold and I was placed on hold for 45 min and then sent to a voicemail. I left a voicemail and still have not heard back from anyone.

I called the collections company and asked them if I could get a break down of the charges since that is what the rep said I would have to do. They told me they do not have a breakdown and would have to put in a request to corporate which could take 30-60 days to get.. meanwhile I am being reported to the credit bureau. I first wanted a breakdown of the charges, and to speak to someone that could let me know a dispute process. I was basically told any dispute or charges would take up to 2 months to complete and I would still be penalized in that meantime.

I was told on the phone they tried to "relentlessly" contact me. I admit that I use my phone for business and I get a LOT of unknown number phone calls. If I am called during the work day I do not answer my phone (agains my companies policy) but I do answer calls after work and I return voicemails. I have listened to any voicemail that was left by a number that is not in my phone and I do not have one voicemail from anyone from Vasa Fitness or Paramount Acceptance. I called back all messages that were vague and did not leave info on who they were, just numbers, most of them were solicitation, but none of them were either Vasa or Paramount.

So the 1 time I talked to someone I told them I did not want to continue my MONTH TO MONTH (NO CONTRACT) account. If I got phone calls, I was not able to answer them, and no voicemails were ever left. I had NO idea that there was ever an issue or I would have taken care of it IMMEDIATELY! Not only should I have been told that I needed to do more to cancel when I informed them on the phone (even if it was a renewals/sales guy), but there was an obvious lack of letting me know there was an issue while they were charging me. Now I am faced with $180 for $30 of services (late fees seem a little steep to me), I am being reported to the credit bureau and I do not feel like Vasa Fitness or Paramount Acceptance handled the account correctly. I do not feel as though I should be responsible for this cost since it was their duty to cancel it when I told them I wanted to or let me know that I needed to do something else.

SCAMMERS!!!

I signed up being told that there was going to be no cancellation fee. I called in today to cancel my gym membership and I see a price of $91 to cancel a freaking Gym Pass. It was ridiculous. Please stay away from this gym. They charge you ridiculous amounts and are not true to what they say.

Stay the f*** away from this gym they debit your card when ever they feel like it not on the agreed date set on the contract you sign with them. There is going to be a class action suit filed so that every member who was charged a late fee will have their money returned. They are criminally owned and operated by ficticious shell corporations owned by isis members. They took my money and insist I pay their set up late fees but I will not pay them one cent and neither should you. The gym stinks like a cross between hippo and body oder and the daycare center is contaminated and many mormon children have gone home sick with chicken pox herpes after a 38 minute workout.

VASA FITNESS is an isis subsidiary company that takes advantage of good hard working Mormons and changes its names constantly from time to time after they are exposed. They bait you in with a low $22 monlthly fee which you ask to your self how could they make money to cover the rent of such a huge space with a low monthly fee like that. The answer is they hit you with a hidden yearly memembership fee and take it out of you account at an unannounced time months later hoping you dont have enough money in your account to cover it so they can make make their money on the bounce fees $25 a spot then they really start to pour it on by taking out your monthly membership fees on random dates that you didnt agree too when signing their bullshit contract. Before you know it you have almost $200 in fees and then the threaten you to send to collections. At there Cedar City location they dont have steam or suanas and their tanning beds are worn and outdated from 1985 you can tan 30 days and get the same tan you would from one visit elsewhere. Another tell sign is when you see employees at a fitness center that are fat as hell weighing over 300 pounds, you should know thats whats up criminal company employing fat ugly criminals. They are also known to sell you banking information to criminals that deal in identity theft. Dont be a victim stay away from VASA, join SNAP. they have the some poor equipment only you dont have to deal with any ugly staff they give you a card to open the door. I left my daughter in daycare for less than an hour and she returned home with chicken pox herpes because their facilities are filthy.

This gym is a scam all the way. I was a faithful customers twice and all of a sudden I see that they had thrown my name in collections charging a huge amount. I was never contacted about what I owned them for, and when I realized my name was in collection because of them, they said they didn't have my contact to tell me that there was still come charges for me to pay. LIES!! I was customer with them for a long time, and twice, and also had been contacted by them before. They are a SCAM that won't care about their customers, they just want your money, that's all. VASA Fitness SCAM - STAY AWAY

So basically I went to Vasa Fitness on July 28th 2017 I went in to sign up for a membership and I've went through the basics I got told how much the pricing would be I went through a tour of the facility and whatnot. I was in explained about a personal training program that was told that would benefit me. I was explained of what I would be doing how it everything would be working out dieting all those things you know? I was then told to different options there was a $40 option and it $80 option I told the salesman that the $80 option sounds better as in just it would be more worth the price. As he was asking me if I wanted to sign up I told him that I did want to sign up but in the

future I did not want to sign up at the moment as and I cannot afford it and I would not have time for it. He also gave me a belt that was supposed to help me during the personal training that would check my heart rate and such since I did not want to do the personal training I asked the salesman if he wanted the belt back since I do not want to do the personal training as in the belt was used for the personal training. He told me know because he said it was my to keep and I was assuming that they give this to everybody as and I did not have much knowledge about this gym so even after saying that I do not want to do the personal training he told me just to keep the belt. So

everything went on paid for the monthly membership and just went on about my day. The next day I noticed that I was charged $69.99 and I was not sure what this was for a then call the corporate office and have them explain to me what that was for that was then told her that was an annual membership fee that I would be paying for equipment I do not think much of it at the time. I then later found out that the annual fee is charged 60 days after signing up and after finding out about this I got charged another $80 about a week ago from today for reason I still did not know at the moment. I've been called the corporate office and explain about the $69.99 charge and then the

$80 charge they told me that they will give me a call back within a few days which never happened I ended up calling them Monday of this week and I explained to them everything again about what what happened and they told me that I signed up for a personal training that would be a six-month contract from now till March. I explain to them that I did never wanted to sign up for this and I told them of how I talk to the salesman and I told him that I do not want to sign up for it at the moment and that I wanted to sign up for it maybe in the near future. They then proceeded to tell me that the sale was Final for the belt that they gave me even though I told them that I told the

salesman I would gladly return it back since I did not want to sign up for it and he told me that it was mine to keep and I just kept it. I explained that I have not used it once. And I kept explaining to them of what happened and they told me that they could do nothing about it since the sale is final and I was in a 6 month contract which the only way to leave was to either move 25 miles away from the nearest Vasa fitness center or to sell my contract online either way I would have to pay $100 cancellation for you for everything. I do not recall ever signing a contract or was never explained that the personal training had a six-month contract I have called and called and called saying that I

cannot afford to pay for this and I will not pay for it but they refused to give me a refund and they will continue to charge me they have for my account on hold as of now till October 6th or 7th I do not recall what day was but I seriously need help I'm not a lawyer but I'm not really sure if this is entirely legal I've read online about other reports such as mine where people would try to either cancel their contract a few months in because of personal issues and they have been told the same thing as in they are bound to a 6-month contract people then say that they never signed a six-month contract they would then be sent an email of the contract but only initials would be on the

contract but they do never remember seeing that contract in person. So I do need help I cannot afford this I am only 19 I do not make entirely much I will most likely need to get a second job just to pay this off plus other personal bills that I need to pay off. As I said I am not a lawyer but from reading what everybody said and potentially this happening to me also I'm pretty sure signing in contract for somebody under their name is illegal if anybody can help me with this I would appreciate it thank you very much.

I started going to the Gym (VASA). In signing up for a gym membership I also signed up for a personal trainer. It was the personal trainer part that was later to cause problems. The problem started when I simply wanted to change the number of times I would meet with the trainer. Instead of 8 times a month, I wanted to meet just 2 times a month. This, I thought would give more a longer time frame to work on things I had learned while being with the trainer. I also wanted to reduce the monthly outlay so I could go longer period of time. Once again no big deal. I tried to call them an explain that I wanted to make a minor change. They said I signed the contract and they would not change it.

I next started looking at the contract. I found that they were not living up to there end of the contract. In the contract it says that a session with the trainer would be 30 minutes. They said it was 15 minutes even though that was not spelled out in the contract but what I told them was.

Clearly they wanted the contract to protect there rights but did not want to live up to there side of the deal.

They even said in the contract "FEES, RULES AND REGULATIONS (SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE)" I thought that was the whole point of the contract that "FEES, RULES AND REGULATIONS" cannot change otherwise what is the point of a contract.

The gym use to be called Golds Gym and did this type of crooked stuff. Now even though the name has changed they are doing the same thing.

It is important to start by saying I was not ripped off, no damage was done to me, but only by being aware, and researching the business before hand.

Went to the Tooele Vasa location last week and spoke with Ian. He told me I could opt out of the $39 rate guarantee fee, and the other two $25 fees. When I got down to signing he said I could not have a printed version of the contract (which is required by Utah state law). He also told me there was a six month contract, but that they could not call it a contract, so at that point I told him thank you and left.

After that visit I called the Orem corporate offices and spoke to a very nice lady, and she said they would print the forms off if I requested them, and I'd also receive an email version. I then emailed Ian and told him I was still interested in joining and would return later in the week, to early the following week. He informed me that there is no contract, but a $25 fee if I terminated with the Gym. There seems to be a large gap in the continuity of the message being given by the sales and management staff.

Today 11/18/16 I went back in for a second attempt at membership, and the young man today told me those fees were not optional. So again I walked out.

If any business tells you there is not a contract, but you have to pay and sign an agreement, that is in fact legally a contract.

Don't be deceived, and don't get trapped into signing something that you're not comfortable doing so. The complaints against Vasa and there several other previous company names far outweigh the good. So proceed with caution.

Cancelation is way too fucking complex

Me and my husband decided to try vasa because of a promotion where you get the first month free and after 1 week we decided we dont go enough to be paying so much so i called to cancel and they make it so fucking dificult to cancel needing a 30 day notice and $25 fee per account with an email... Vasa fitness was the worst mistake of my life and now i have collections calling for 250x2 for unpaid membership that we never even used... I went 1 time and now my credit is fucked up...

  • Aug 9, 2016

I went into gym location told them I was moving and needed to cancel membership. They said fine looked me up and said that I was taken care of. The next 4 months I was charged I called in and they said it would be taken care of. Finally, I got a call that said I had to show proof I moved out of state to cancel my contract, I did, they wanted a humdred dollars they charged my account for 5 more months. I then cancelled my card. They sent me to collection and will not take it off until I pay $225 more dollars basically the rest of my contract I have not lived in Utah for over a year now. I complied with all thier crazy requests and still they took my money and reported me. This place is a joke.

I signed up for a membership with VASA fitness in April, 2016, at the Ogden, UT, location in order to participate in deep-water aerobics. I am unable to do impact exercises due to a physical disability, and I had explained this to the sales rep who assured me the aerobics instructors do offer deep water classes and that the pool was deep enough to do so.

I also signed up for a personal trainer, since I had recently lost 50 lbs and wanted assistance in toning my muscles and developing a more healthy lifestyle. The sales rep told me a trainer would work with me by conducting a thorough assessment of my current physical condition which would include calculating my BMI, my body fat percentage, providing intense nutritional counselling and help with planning diet and menus.

THIS WAS ALL DECEPTIVELY MISREPRESENTED. The trainer informed me that he had no knowledge of these assessments he was supposed to do; he showed me a couple of exercises was all. The water aerobics teachers do ONLY shallow water impact exercises, and the pool was only 5' deep.

Since the pool was useless to me, I tried to downgrade my membership to the basic one that cost less and did not include the pool. I was told I would have to pay $25 to cancel my membership then pay a $100 re-signup fee. Ridiculous.

I paid the $25 fee and cancelled my membership within the 1st 30 days. I blocked charges on my credit card for "Paramount Acceptance", since that was the company name that appeared on my initial charges for signup ($33+) and first month ($20). Charges came through anyway because they then began billing as VASA, not Paramount. Clever.

So I am being billed $120 month for something I cancelled. I am still contesting the $240 they charged for May and June.

In response to my contesting those charges, VASA sent my credit card company a copy of a totally faked "contract". They had typed my name in on the signature line, my initials in on the initial line, and typed in an addendum stating that anything not in writing (oral agreements) were not binding.

I HAD NEVER SEEN THIS CONTRACT, AND CERTAINLY DID NOT SIGN IT. When I joined the gym, I asked the sales rep about paperwork. He said my credit card charge would serve as my contract. I never saw anything in writing; no contract was every shown to me or reviewed with me.

I am now receiving emails, phone calls, bills in the mail and text messages from VASA demanding payment of the $240 + late fees + another $120 for each month that goes by. I consider this blatant harassment.

This company has perpetrated outright FRAUD and needs to be shut down.

After graduation I told them we were moving. Before we signed up I told them we were relocating. "No problem!" they said. It's been nearly a YEAR and they are still charging me despite we are 1000 miles away. F*RS.

I recently relocated to cedar city to expose gyms and other businesses that take advantage of patrons by using breach of contract loopholes such as debit their monthly fees on dates not agreed to in the worthless contract they make you sign knowing that the smart consumer would never use their bank account for such establishments such as gyms that change their name everytime they are exposed do they debit you prepaid card knowing you don't have the set amount coveted hoping it will decline so they can hit you with the declined fee.

The average member at Vasa Fitness cedar city is charged $139-$319 in these bogus fraudulent fees. It's time for this gym to be shut down and out of business just like all the other fraudulent businesses surrounding it. It's time to make cedar city a wonderful place to live by running shady companies like Vasa out of town. They even have a "sneaky silver" company logo on their window. The staff don't even break a smile when they say how are you because they are guilty and unhappy working for a horrible crooked company called Paramount Acceptance. The equipment is also outdated and unsafe.
